Mr. Michael Lee
Clay-Chalkville High School, Principal
I am a 1995 graduate of Carbon Hill High School in the Walker County School System. Upon graduation, I attended Bevill State Community College in Fayette, Alabama on an athletic scholarship where I received an Associates Degree in 1997. In the fall of 1998, I enrolled at The University of Alabama. I received my BS degree from Alabama in 2000 and began my teaching career at Bottenfield Middle School. I attended Samford University and earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2007.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the classroom. I taught 8th & 9th grade World History and was Athletic Director along with other coaching duties during my 7 years at Bottenfield. I was named Assistant Principal at Minor High School for the 2007/2008 school year and served in that position for 5 years before being named Principal here at CCHS in the summer of 2012. I was very blessed to receive the opportunity to lead such an outstanding school. Our focus at CCHS is Every Student, Every Day and we truly believe that all students can learn if given the proper tools, a caring staff, and the right environment.
I am married and have 3 amazing children. My wife, Jana, spent 19 years with the Jefferson County School System and is now a school counselor in the Mountain Brook City School System. I am proud to be employed with Jefcoed and very excited about the direction that we are heading. Our faculty and staff are second to none and our students are great. Clay-Chalkille High School is blessed to have such a supportive community and parents that expect the best.
